About

I’m Astrid Case, an instructional designer with over ten years of experience closing performance gaps across a range of industries, primarily through contract and consulting work. My approach starts with the business need — identifying where performance breaks down, then deciding whether an instructional or non-instructional intervention actually solves it, and evaluating whether it worked using frameworks like Kirkpatrick’s model. I hold an M.S. in Instructional & Performance Technology from Boise State University and am currently pursuing an M.Ed. in Educational Technology at UTRGV. I’m also a native Spanish speaker with experience developing bilingual training materials.

This e-Portfolio documents my growth as a graduate student in the UTRGV Educational Technology program. It showcases coursework, key assessments, and artifacts that demonstrate how I apply instructional design theory, AECT standards, and performance-improvement principles to real projects, and it will continue to grow as I complete each course in the program.

The site is organized by menu: Home, Reflection Letter, Matrix, Courses Taken, Leadership, and Contact Me. The Reflection Letter shares my goals and professional philosophy. The Matrix connects each project to AECT standards. Courses Taken links to project pages for each course in my program, and Leadership documents my ongoing professional development.

This site displays best on an updated web browser (Chrome, Safari, or Edge) with a stable internet connection; no special plug-ins are required. It is optimized for both desktop and mobile viewing. Artifact links may open PDF or Word documents, so a PDF viewer is recommended for full access to supporting materials.
